First, this is a great humane society. Staff is nice and helpful. The reason I’m rating two stars is because the facility is closed to the public which makes it incredibly difficult to go and see any possible adoptable animals. It’s the main experience for adoption. Also the website isn’t always updated with all of the animals so even if you see some online it’s impossible to know if there are new ones currently. This facility used to be open to the public, but now that it isn’t I’ve adopted elsewhere. Good luck.

Really rude staff, ridiculous protocols, bad location, all in all couldn't be worse in my experience

We Give to them because over the years they were always there for us.

Helped me reunite a couple of stray dogs with their owner. I have felt with Drake in the office before. He is awesome to work with and so nice!

65 for most cats and kittens. Sometimes older cats may be cheaper or even free.
The Staff at the Klamath Animal Shelter does everything possible to encourage the public to adopt their Shelter Pets. Nothing would be better than to reduce the ridiculous numbers of pets ending up in their care! A No-Kill Shelter is only possible when the facility has unlimited space, funds for food & medical care, funds to hire staff to care for the ever increasing numbers coming in their front door. Plus it's a very sad fact that some of the pets are not adoptable due to their previous owners treatment and/or neglect. Society, even in 2018, is still not on board with Spaying/Neutering their pets... So the Shelters will always be over full...
Never calls back...never
Small dog puppies available?
They have all sorts of animals. Rabbits, Guinea pigs, rats. The probably have ferrets sometimes. You would need to call.
I have sdopted a dog and a cat from the shelter and have only received the nicest care. I am very surprised to hear that you had problems.
Here in Klamath it depends. Some are 160 and some can be much less if they have been at the shelter for quite a while. Some times you can get a dog or cat for 40 dollars.
They ask for a donation, or food. But, will not turn a dog away.
Should have took it to another vet that would have taken care of him
Yes no fee.
I am not shure, beleive it is on male or female and spaid or nutered
The animal shelter really takes care of their animals. Very clean and sanitized every time I have gone in. Never been in double C
Call fish and Wildlife.
If you are on Facebook their page has requests for certain items on it.
Please take the dog you found to any Veterinarian and ask to have the dog scanned for an Identifying Micro Chip. Hopefully it has one, and then you can call the Owner. If the dog was adopted from the Shelter, it will have a Micro Chip.
The Staff at the Shelter do everything they can to encourage the Public to adopt their dogs, cats, horses, birds, rabbits, etc. In their care. To give your dog a head start in getting a new home, I would encourage you to write a brief biography on his personality, training, likes/dislikes, experiences around small children, cats, livestock etc. This allows a potential Adopter to know valuable information when considering taking him home. Be thorough and honest in your Biography, so he can get paired with his forever home.
Yes, and for good reason. The pet overpopulation problem is so bad especially in Klamath County, as it is nationwide. The only way to lower the numbers of pets coming in the front doors is to stop the amount of pets being born without enough homes wanting them. This is why the ideal No-Kill Shelter isn't possible until the incoming numbers drop. Awesome pets are euthanized simply because there are not enough people adopting. The Shelter can only house/feed/care for the maximum number allowed by sanitary and safety pets per kennel... Please adopt from the Shelter! Thanks for your question :)
The people that work there are very kind and courteous to the animals and they worry about all or care take care of them very well are they care about the people too
YES! Please call or visit the Klamath Animal Shelter and inquire about their "SNIP" program.
