I really like Giant Bikes but would never ever purchase anything from this poor excuse for a bike shop. Owner is very rude, bigoted and generally not a nice person. Why people like this are in this industry is beyond logic. There are plenty of bike shops in TBA and in Berkeley specifically. Do yourself a favor and skip this place and instead shop somewhere else. This place has provided me with the most horrible experience I have ever had at any bicycle shop anywhere. I have been to this shop 3 times. First time I was there 5 minutes and made a $25 purchase yet treated poorly. I went back two more times with intent of buying things and did not because I was treated so poorly. All three times I left wondering why I even would bother but I do like Giant Bikes. This last time, number 4, was a simple phone call where the same owner, Mike, basically accused me of not knowing anything about bikes even though I have managed two bike shops and was a mechanic at two others having an excellent track record. I wish people like Mike would stay away from the Bicycle industry as such people do a huge disservice to people seeking a reputable bike shop for either service or sales. This is the most pathetic excuse for a bike shop that I have ever personally experienced.

Horrible experience. I went to this shop looking for a road bike to buy as a serious buyer. I was told by the shop owner that he had a giant contend 3 to sell. Initially I thought that the price offered for it was decent, but wanted to look around for better offers, so I left the store so that I could do more research. The store said that they wouldn’t be able to price match as well, which was okay. That’s not the bad part. The bad part is that when I went back to the store to buy the bike offered after my research, the store owner told me that he wouldn’t sell the bike to me despite offering to pay the full money for the bike. In my head I was like ***********…. But just said, okay I understand whatever. Essentially, I wasted my time shopping at the store and doing research about the bike because clearly the store owner can only understand his own emotions and not his customer’s. Also businesses shouldn’t have emotions, but that’s just my opinion, and what do I know, I’m just the customer. Wouldn’t recommend shopping here unless you got time to kill.
