Great summer @ Camp Half Moon. Covid had some interference in activities this summer but everyone from Half Moon did a great job!!!

I worked here as a Director so I know what I am talking about. My prospective is the one of an employee but I can assure you that apart from the counselors (most of which are really nice) the Directors are pretty awful people. I've received defamatory comments from coworkers and false accusations from coworkers and the owner who harassed me for most of the time. As a teacher at the camp I socialized with most of my students who revealed to me their fear of the owner (this should not be the case in a happy fun environment). I always tried to be fun and social with the kids but only got yelled at for interacting so much even though i was one of the favorite directors/counselors exactly for this reason! i'm not implying you will not have a good time here but take these comments into consideration as I worked in other camps where the attitude towards kids and coworkers was positive instead of negative. Negativity and hatred does not have place in these camps. One more thing, The food is insanely Bad and unhealthy so depending on how you feed your kid i'd think about that too. Fun fact they fired me based on those false accusations without even listening to my side of the story and left me on the side of the road with a broken baggage, a good mile from the bus stop, 3 hours from New York. That will be the worst day of my life

My daughter was attacked by another camper. I was NOT notified when it happened. She came home with a bruise on her head from being punched. When I brought it up to administration, I was told the other girl was told not to hit. Both girls were punished by losing an activity even though administration said my daughter did nothing wrong. Plus I was told pictures were going to be taken daily, which they were not. 3 days went by without a picture. Also I was told letters would be written 2x a week. 1 letter was written.
