You can bring used oil here or to any of the auto parts chain stores like Pep Boys, Autozone or theothers. Most will take up to 5 gallons per visit. This is free and doesn't require a purchase.
I don't know for sure but don't see why not. The only restricción is that you be a resident of Trumbull or Monroe and the the refuse be from your home use. Commercial haulers have a different licensed permission to use the facility. Also if you need the truck because you have lots or large amounts, on Trumbull you can call for a once per year bulk pick from your home. I've disposed of couches and mattresses that way.
I don't think there's much to recycle in a VHS tape.
I'm not sure about recycling. They take yard waste and construction debris. There is a charge for some debris like shingles.
You can bring unused paint to most large paint retailers. You now pay a tax per paint purchase to be able to dispose of unused paint.
You have to wait for the hazardous waste collection day. They won't take it at the transfer station.
