The YMCA used to be a great place for gymnastics. My daughter had a great experience from Xcel Bronze and Level 3. She has had a lot of fun too. But once Zahra and Lissette stop head coaching, everything started going downhill. There are only 2 coaches who come in to train the girls everyday. There are other coaches that come in when they need to though. One of the coaches hasn’t even done gymnastics, she has done cheer. The rest of the coaches are in college and can’t come to train the girls. My daughter has came home from practice upset and crying that her teammates and coaches have been mean. She also feels as if she could be progressing more if her coaches let her work on more upper level skills during the summer. She used to be able to do her fly-away but know she can’t because the coach that usually coaches her, can NOT SPOT her and any of her teammates.

Horrible experience during a swimming lesson. My son was under their care and he went in the deeper end, under water. The instructor was right next to him and she didn’t stop him from going where he wasn’t suppose to. He was terrified when he was taking out. Thank god he was ok. I did not take him back and would never go back there. I also witness them teaching another little boy and they were so tough on him. I felt terrible that they had no experience on how to speak to children they kept asking why? why? to why he didn’t want to try to do what they said. The worst part was the main swimming instructor shrugged her shoulders when she was told the story about my son going under water. Please be aware clearly the children’s safety is not a priority there even if they claim it is.

My daughter is on the gym team I just have gratitude to Ashley, Victoria, Zahra all of them, team couches are just amazing. Always for you...off courses we have issues, but when you inform about it. So far always I have been helped out .
