I like this park, it's pretty huge and has a couple different scenery walks from all forest walks to open field walks. Lots of nature to see if you like birds.

Wow. This state forest is a true hidden gem of Milwaukee! The nature is beautiful and breathtaking. The sounds of the birds chirping and the wind blowing through the trees are truly calming. I love the fact there are copious different trails leading you to different parts of this forest. I learned so much and there is even a parking lot! There is also a community garden and an information building!

One of my favorite places in the city, an old wwii- era army facility turned into an enjoyable natural area. The center is mostly meadow-like filled with wild flowers in the summer. It offers excellent bird- watching opportunities and have seen plenty of deer. Usually not too crowded with plenty of trails of varying lengths. Has a few retaining ponds to manage water and provide a natural way to filter water using all native long rooted plants such as goldenrod and purple cone flower. Beware in the summer time as the mosquitoes are quite ravenous.

We had a wonderful time here on the trails. They were beautiful and a great spot for bird watchers. They also take wonderful care of the animals inside.

We were there on Saturday and saw a number of people snowshoeing. So, I'd assume it's good (we were just hiking).
There’s no camping type options at this park. Nearby there’s a small campground called “Decadent Dreamz” plus the Wisconsin State Fair RV park, which might allow vehicle camping.
You absolutely DO NOT need a pass. Entrance is completely free.
The trail i walk is roughly 2.5 miles it takes me 45 minutes. I could make it longer or shorter.but it suits me its a beautiful walk and the wildlife makes it more interesting.
