Great theatre---worth buying a membership for $50 per year, too. You can see movies that are hard to find elsewhere. Also, the refreshments are priced reasonably compared to other movie theaters. Everyone is very friendly and helpful.

An amazing theater, locally run and operated by local film lovers. The popcorn is delicious and they use REAL butter! A membership at The Chelsea is worth it's weight in gold. Oh and don't forget to tip the helpful staff for their dedicated hardwork!!! Update 3 years later: this place is still so damn radical

I watched 3000 Years of Longing this week. Clean movie theater. The staff is friendly. The concession stand is well stocked with speciality candy and delicious popcorn that is reasonably priced. Always enjoy my movie experience at the Chelsea.

I wonder if the members will get ignored as the Chelsea gets so fancy and uptown. Was fine before.
Hello Ruth; every third Thursday mattinee will include open captions. Also, the Chelsea proudly offers wireless headphones, and closed caption devices. Ask for them at the concession stand.
It'd be a smart choice for the first few days of showing. They go on sale tomorrow (9/20/2019) and you can purchase tickets online or in person before the showtimes.

Yes the projector was replaced, and you would need to call the Chelsea itself to ask which theater the film is in.
