How long can canned chunk beef last when unopened I have had a can fir couple of years

The rule of thumb we usually go by is 3 to 5 years but if they can is in good shape meaning no rust no gouges no swelling is probably good I have opened product more than 10 years old is been perfectly fine. But we also always say if you have a doubt throw it out.

How do I tell how old a can of your beef broth is? I see numbers and letters stamped on the top but how do I tell what the use date is? Thanks
