I attended a funeral service here. It was fairly obvious that many in the audience were likely not saved. Though 2 hymns were sung, and 2 Scripture passages were read, it was distressing that there was no devotional presented to draw attention to the need for salvation, and no Gospel presented to explain how to have eternal life. This really surprised me for a Southern Baptist church. The pastor and all were very friendly, and the life of the deceased was suitably honored. But there was a "barn door" open to share the Gospel, and it was missed. So I came away very sad.
