When I say these are some of the nicest folks I have met, it isn’t an exaggeration. I’m a ten-year Cary resident but came from rural NC - it has been a long time since I’ve been able to meet with folks so friendly and skilled. Great and professional workers, beautiful work, great price. Thanks for having a sawmill for our community!

I purchased an 80” slab of beautiful mahogany a few months ago.. the staff were very helpful in assisting me to choose the right piece after I explained I was going to make a coffee river table. I asked them to cut it in half. I just finished it. It’s great I built legs, beveled the edge and routed the surface. I cut one half into 4 pieces. The mahogany was the perfect choice to show off the grain. It still needs a polishing. Thank you , American Woodyards.

Lame response from owner. I was not "disappointed"....I was cheated by a large degree. No way a mistake of double on the weight is legit whether I could see the scales or not...which I did not. Bought a small pile of hickory, kiln dried sold by $.14 per pound according to website. In office I was told $.19 per pound. I was told it was 150 pounds of hickory. They weigh your car prior to loading and after loading. No receipt given. You cannot see the scales and take their word for it. Weighed it at home..77.8 pounds. Should have been charged $10.89 cents. Was charged almost 3 times as much. Not so much on a small amount...but if I bought a couple cords it would be a lot. My scales are digital and cannot be off by that much. Also it was a disorganized mess and a large dump truck almost backed over me. Dangerous woodyard. Won't return. Charged me triple what they should have. Buyer beware. I bought a small amount the first time as a test. Sadly they failed. I was charged $28 and change for 77.8 pounds. Owner's response to me was lame. I was told in office it was 150 pounds. It WAS NOT. Also says busy on Fridays. I did not go on Friday. Cheated me, and then had the nerve to tell me to have a blessed day.. Guess we all know what Jesus thinks of cheaters, thieves and dishonest merchants. Again, buyer beware. Guess especially so on Fridays. ALSO HIGHLY SUSPICIOUS THAT I GOT ONLY ONE VIEW.

Until a couple of months ago I would have given them 5 stars and have recommended them to others. The kiln dried wood is great but I can’t get a delivery. I requested online. I got an email that said try again in January. Requested again in January. I received another email that said they would call me the week of January 24 to schedule the first week of February. No call. I called them and left voicemail. No call back. Made another online request. Crickets. Very disappointed. I’m going to order green from Craigslist so it will be seasoned for next winter.

I have a horizontal wood fence made of pressure treated lumber (1 X 6 X 8; 1 X 6 X 12). I was thinking of switching to cypress lumber. Do you have cypress lumber in 1 X 6? Is it more expensive than pressure treated? Thanks.
