My son was married at the Smithville Inn, we stayed at the Johnson House. What an awesome time we had! After the wedding we had other relatives (that also stayed in the village) over for cocktails!! I think we had almost all the rooms rented. It was great! And the gals at the desk could not be any nicer!! Coffee and breakfast baskets were so good!! Thank you Andrea and all the girls who made our time there wonderful!!

The grounds are nice, the desk staff was helpful, and room was spacious with adequate accommodations. However, the furniture and bedding looked ran through possibly trying to carry on that 1800s look. But seriously, there were staples coming out of the chairs and the comforter was a bit shredded. The room was also dusty with toenail clippings and food on the floor..... Amanda, if you want better tips break that swiffer out! Was just expecting it to be a touch nicer or even clean for the price.

A great little getaway. I live local and booked an overnight stay after a weekend wedding with family.We chose a room in the barn.It was quite,very clean and everything was exactly as described.We arrived alittle early.While we waited for our room we were offered coffee and cookies complimentary.The staff was so friendly and you really felt like you were hidden away on a alittle retreat.The next morning was perfect with a short walk you picked up hot muffins and coffee.It was so enjoyable that we are already planning our next trip and making it a two night stay.Dont overlook this little hidden gem!

Location is great. We stayed in the barn rooms. The walls are paper thin. We heard EVERYTHING going on the in entire barn. And I mean everything. Not just the room next to us. Everything echoed as if the action was happening right outside our door. If you want to hear your neighbor creating life, this is the place for you. Not sure anything can be done about it, but for the price (in February mind you) I expected more. Perhaps other lodging is better, but I can’t imagine being able to afford it.
