I’m from NJ and was visiting family in NC when I looked up a local yarn shop. The shop was simply wonderful and the owner just as wonderful. I took my non knitting brother and son with me and when they left they said “it was such a good atmosphere”. My brother wanted to go back and just hang out.

Gate City Yarns has a wide variety of indie and mass produced yarns and fibers, along with tools and notions. Amanda is always willing to help crafters with their projects or provide advice when buying yarn for a project. Also a great shop for the local crafting community with the Friday Fiber Nights.

Great store full of equipment for spinning, knitting, crochet, felting and weaving. A nice selection of yarns. Best of all is Amanda, an amazing talent and oh-so-helpful!

Lovely shop Amanda was so sweet. We not only chatted about yarn and knitting but also D&D and critical role. will be stopping back next time I'm in town.

Masks are required, and the shop owner sanitizes surfaces (tables, door knobs, chair backs) frequently throughout the day. Social distancing is strongly encouraged.

Usually the store is open but there is a sheep shearing event that everyone is attending. They also have a Facebook page and a webpage, if that's any help.

Do you carry the Addi Kingsize Knitting machine?

Heya Sue, good to see you again! While I don't have 'em in stock at the moment, I can get them from Addi no problem. Remember, though, that this is for worsted-equivalent yarns. If you're looking for something sock-weight, we might have to look into other options.
