Very well maintained mid century modern garden, managed to make all the human manipulation and intervention look natural and effortless, as if Nature left it that way, must be the hardest job. Love the Adirondack chairs and benches dotted the property, always at the exact right view spot and same time creating a view themselves.
Once Upon a Journey
We absolutely loved wandering around Innisfree Gardens. Wish we had more time because one hour is simply not enough. Especially not if you also want to do the hike around the lake, …

Beautiful serene place! Definitely worth visiting and returning to. Just note they do not have bathroom facilities.
Alif FTW
Amazing place, Beautiful landscaping and awesome place to take some pictures of family or the landscape. The area is very well taken care of and beautifully crafted. some of the walking areas could be better maintained.

Thank you so much for your interest, but pets and therapy dogs/animals are not allowed at Innisfree.
Carrier especially if it has rained recently
Thank you for your interest in visiting Innisfree. Parking is included in garden admission.
Admission is $10; $5 for seniors (65+) and kids (ages 5-15); free for Innisfree members and young kids (ages 4 and under). Innisfree will be open to the public the first two weekends in May and then, starting May 12, open Wednesdays-Sundays plus legal holidays. Advance reservations for timed admission are required.
There are several that might meet your decription but I think you are asking about a cypress, by the massive rock face? The roots form what are called knees, so that they can get air where the soil itself is saturated, and provide more structural support for a tall tree growing in mud. I think the fall colors on our other deciduous conifers, dawn redwoods and larches, make them well worth considering. They are bright copper and golden yellow respectively. Thanks for your interest!
Dont worry, they have your name on a guest list
Thank you for being interested in a fall visit to Innisfree. Unless infection rates jump in New York, we anticipate being open through November 1st this year. So that we can more easily adjust the number of visitors in the garden if need be, we release tickets in two week increments, about two weeks in advance. The next batch of tickets are slated to go on sale today or tomorrow. I hope that helps!
Yes it is open to the public! There is a fee for anyone to enter (in-state or out-of-state) and reservations must be made on their website, for one of several 2 hour time slots offered throughout the day.
Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for seniors (65+) and children. They also offer annual memberships that provide unlimited entry. But everyone visiting must reserve in advance, off their web site. (Also note, masks and social distancing are mandatory.) The reservations page will show you all the days and times available. As of right this second, they are open, but due to capacity limits not many spots are left.
Thank you for your interest in Innisfree. Except for two community days planned for the fall, the admission is the same regardless of where you live: $10; $5 for seniors (65+) and children (5-15); free for kids (4 and under) and Innisfree members. We currently require advance reservations which can be made via our website: www.innisfreegarden.org/visit
Reservations are required, and the timing is enforced by docents scattered throughout.
Yes. Just book an appointment ahead for a 2-hr time slot. Masks are required to enter & must be worn the entire time.
November 10 2019 is the last day.
We enjoy a picnic there about one a year even though we live at a distance. Just a great place to spend a day outdoors and enjoy the different seasons in NY. Keep it clean and enjoy!
Yes!
Innisfree is now open Wednesdays through Sundays plus holidays from 10am to 5pm into early November. Admission is $10 per person, $5 for seniors (65+) and children (ages 4 through 12). Enjoy your visit! Thanks so much for your interest in Innisfree! The momentum builds from now on. This Saturday, visitors will see heirloom daffodils. For spring highlights, I think mid-May through mid/possibly late June is best, with native columbine and Japanese primroses followed by irises, peonies, and foxgloves. There is always something blooming, but this garden doesn’t rely heavily on flowers. With sculptural forms, terrific water features, and myriad shades of green (or fall foliage) there is something special to see every day.
I visited during the week, but they do open on Saturdays. I'm not sure about that specific date however.
It has a long history. I suggest visiting http://www.innisfreegarden.org to learn about its historic past.
Some of the areas are accessible. Other areas require going up steps or steep grades.
As other Innisfree friends have said, yes, you are welcome to set up an easel and small stool to sketch and paint in the garden. We ask you to use common sense and common courtesy when positioning yourself so as not to damage anything in the garden or block they way for other visitors. Have fun!
Thanks you, Lynda, for your interest, and thank you, Virginia, for your help. In addition to monthly public tours, it is also possible to arrange private tours. Detailed information on those can be found on the Guided & Group Tours page of our website. Sing out if you have any other questions!
I know it can be rented for events so I imagine that it can be rented for photoshoots. I recommend calling to inquire and make an appointment.
