I had the best experience at Blue Pearl with the whole staff but especially with Dr Patricia Joyce! Despite a traumatic incident involving a huge tear in his ear with blood everywhere, Finn had a great time at the vet because he loved the attention and treats. He happily ran into the vet with excitement at all our follow up visits to get his stitches removed. I really loved that they run the estimate and bill by you thoroughly before they start the treatment. Also they didn’t charge me for the follow up visit to get the stitches removed and I received a lot of follow up communication via email as well. I cannot recommend Blue Pearl and Dr Joyce highly enough, and Finnegan definitely feels the same way!

Doctors at Blue Pearl saved my dog Joey’s life‼️🐶. I took my dog to joey’s regular vet reporting he was drinking lots of water and urinating more then usual. He was checked for cushion disease. And nothing else. His blood test were good. So I was told he was fine . Then I took him for his vaccinations and ask for his blood to be tested reason being he was on a medication for a high alt. His blood was tested the potassium was high. I was told maybe it’s his kidneys bring his urine in. I’m going on vacation I’ll be back next week said the vet . No emergency. Well when it comes to my fur Baby I’m not waiting. Then overnight he stop eating I wasn’t going to waste any time. I took him to Blue pearl and told them the same symptoms and immediately they had and idea what was wrong. Before any tests or treatments were done it was explained by the veterinarian what tests and treatments were needed. I agreed and they proceeded . He was given a test to check for Addison’s Disease and was given Electrolytes And I was given a steroid pill I was told don’t start it until test results come back. The next day it was confirmed my dog had Addison’s diseases. That has to do with the kidneys. He wasn’t eating for a few days after and lost weight. When I started giving him the the steroid pill. His appetite improved and now he is fine.with medications and regular blood tests he can live a healthy life. Dr Joseph Campbell , Dr David Wohlstadter, Dr Laura Stock Explained everything so I understood completely what has to be done long term . All the Doctors , all the veterinarian technicians , and all the front staff are welcoming, knowledgeable , and caring.I E- Mailed the front desk a few times with questions and they were answered promptly. The Hospital is very clean , the examination rooms, The waiting room as you enter each time I have been there, there is a young man cleaning. He does an excellent job. I highly recommend Blue Pearl. And thank each and everyone of you from the bottom of my heart for saving my Joey’ s life. ‼️😁🐶❤️ Our sincere gratitude Rose Sessa / Camille Agro

Hear me out - nobody wants to bring their pet to an emergency room. Nobody wants to have unexpected financial strain associated with a big accident. But - it happens, and my experience with BluePearl was excellent. I was in a complete panic when I arrived, and the front desk staff was so warm and understanding. I was immediately brought to a private room with my dog, and a vet came to check me in within a matter of minutes. Before performing surgery, the vet ran me through an estimate of my entire bill (they even offered a payment plan if needed) and calmly walked me through what they thought could be adjusted if finances would be a concern. My dog was in and out of surgery within 2 hours and is having a great recovery. He doesn’t do well with kennels, and I thought he would at least be traumatized by that component. He is doing well and I’m so grateful for the care this team gave Ollie. There are plenty of options for emergency care in the city, but at the end of the day BP is meticulously clean, has an excellent team of professionals, and my dog was safe. That’s worth it’s weight in gold to me.

I recently made a frantic visit to Blue Pearl Emergency at 2am on a Friday night. From the moment I buzzed the receptionist I felt like I was in good hands, again it was 2am! My poor dog had uncontrollable bloody diarrhea and vomiting. He was seen right away. Like any emergency situation I knew it would be costly but I do not think that should be a surprise. The doctor sat with me and answered my many repetitive questions and was able to confirm the price for each test. She was patient and kind. We left around 4am and while the night was absolutely terrible Blue Pearl really helped me feel at ease. The bill was high, yes, but that is what Pet Insurance is for!

Questions & Answers

How is the cost

It's $250 just to be seen by the vet and then any labs, medications, and treatment are on top of that. Their price to fill prescriptions is pretty normal, but the cost of labs is higher than necessary in my opinion. They will also give medications without your consent and expect you to pay for them. Don't go here unless you have at least $1,000 ready to pay the bill.

Where is the hospital located between streets

Yes, but it's best if you call before going.

Can you do vaccination for the dog?

We don't necessarily carry vaccines in our hospital. We are a specialty hospital that consists of emergency mainly. Basically entitles diagnostics and procedures. If you want to have vaccine done I would recommend a general clinic, petco or possibly the ASPCA mobile truck but not Bluepearl. Hope that was helpful!

I tried to contact Patricia Joyce to ask her a question about my visit yesterday. My cat is taking Cerenia. She was prescribed a steroid at BluePearl. I just wanted to know if it is safe for her to take both meds. I was not able to contact her
