Having Chris at Kirschenbaum and Kirschenbaum handle my case along with another law office out of state, I am completely satisfied and if I need help at another time, I will not hesitate to call Chris again. Everything he did was above my expectations and held with the utmost professionalism.

I've had a very positive experience dealing with attorney Christopher Russo. He has taken my very challenging motorcycle accident case and has dealt very effectively with multiple insurance companies and multiple healthcare providers to explore every possible option for me to receive the maximum amount that I could for the very serious injuries that I've suffered during my accident. My case took a year to complete and Christopher was informing me on Its progress on regular basis, via emails and zoom calls for when something important would come up or a decision would need to be made. I have complete confidence in Christopher's ability to handle the most complex auto accident / personal injury cases and highly recommend him to anyone who needs legal assistance on this matter.

If you are planning to divorce your spouse, you may have already budgeted for the costs of filing fees and legal help. However, there are many other costs beyond attorney fees and court costs—and people are often shocked at the amount of unexpected expenses. Prevent making common mistakes during the divorce process by planning for these hidden costs. A good divorce attorney should give you a written estimate of their fees, as well as any potential legal costs of preparing and filing your divorce petition. They may also advise you on whether it is a good idea to hire outside experts to help you get the divorce settlement you deserve.

Most people assume that an accident claim involving a parked car should be easier than one involving two moving cars—simply because the owner of the parked car shouldn’t be held responsible. However, these kinds of accidents often involve liability issues, especially if the car was parked illegally. If you were injured or sustained property damage while your car was parked, you will need to act quickly to protect your right to compensation.

If you find that your ex is not following a custody order, the best response would be to speak with your attorney, who will likely file a motion to adjudge the other parent in contempt or to seek other relief. If found in contempt, the court can issue new orders with various forms of relief, including modifications to the custody or visitation order that is being violated.

Are There Any Advantages To A Legal Separation Rather Than Divorce?

Kirshenbaum & Kirshenbaum, Attorneys at Law, Inc | Sep 15, 2021

In Rhode Island a legal separation is referred to as a "Divorce from bed and board and future cohabitation." One advantage to such a separation is that if you and your partner ever elect to reconcile, there is no need for a remarriage as you are not legally "divorced". Further, as you remain married you may remain eligible for various benefits such as medical insurance or retirement survivor benefits. However, there are some potential financial pitfalls to remaining married although legally separated; each situation should be discussed on an individual basis.

There are many types of injuries covered by workers' compensation, but all of them have one thing in common: they are connected in some way to the victim's employment situation. However, employers and employees may have differing opinions on whether an injury can be considered “work-related.” The precise definition of “work-related” is important because it can affect eligibility for workers’ compensation benefits. Work-Related Injuries Under RI Workers Compensation Laws Under Rhode Island workers' compensation laws, the first qualification of a work-related injury is employment status. To collect benefits, you have to be an employee (rather than a day worker or independent contractor) who has suffered a compensable injury during the course of employment.
