Always quick to reply back, Mr. Pearsall is very professional, and went above and beyond to help me. He truly cared about my case, and is willing to put in the work to become knowledgeable about the issues at hand. In my opinion, he's the best lawyer in RI. If I could I would give him a 10 here. Very highly recommend. He is willing to work with you, and charges reasonable and fair rates. I am so glad to have had him be the first one I called to help me with my case. Mr. Pearsall truly cares about his clients and their needs. I would have been very lost without him.

I found Chris through Google reviews, and decided to give him a shot since I didn't know any attorneys, other than one I used many years ago who had since retired. Boy did I get lucky! He did an excellent job for me, got my child support terminated in a most timely manner, and guided me throughout the entire process on what I needed to do and the information I needed to provide. He charged me an extremely fair price, and fully delivered the results that I wanted. I would highly recommend him and would use him again should I ever need a family law attorney.

I greatly appreciate the services of Attorney Pearsall in a difficult divorce case. He represented me very well and very skillfully. He has a good mind for strategy and timing as well as a thorough understanding of the law and procedures. Highly recommended.

Erin, I recommend contacting the Rhode Island Bar Association and ask about the Volunteer Lawyers Program to see if you qualify and whether a lawyer might take your case.
If you can't afford a lawyer, all the RI Bar Association and see if you qualify for the Volunteer Lawyers Program. If not, I recommend getting the RI Child Support Guidelines from your local family court and educating yourself as to how they work. You will find that they are based on the gross incomes of the parents with certain allowable deductions. Sometimes what we think we can "afford" is not in line with what the guidelines say our children have the right to receive. You will want to check the guidelines and may need to read a case or two in order to see whether you qualify to modify your child support based on what is known as a "substantial change in circumstances."
