RIPIN

RIPIN is a 501(c)(3), charitable, nonprofit organization established in 1991 by a passionate group of parents of children with special needs. These parents recognized that together they could provide support through sharing essential information and helping to find the resources they needed for their loved ones. This peer model continues to be at the heart of our work and has lead RIPIN’s network to expand statewide. Today we have over 100 employees, most of whom have personal experience caring for a loved one with special health care or educational needs.

Regarding health insurance issues, the Office of the Health Insurance Commissioner has given RIPIN permission to work with Rhode Island consumers about health insurance issues. For all programs, we have our clients sign release of information forms that allow to access or share your information with relevant parties. Once you sign the release, you are giving RIPIN permission to work with you.

We are located on 300 Jefferson Boulevard in Warwick, RI. You will see be able to see our logo if you are driving on Jefferson Boulevard. If you take the elevator the front of the building, we are located on the third floor. Please note that while we normally need people to buzz in to enter, we are not accepting visitors at this time! Our new location at Jefferson Boulevard has parking around the building! No street parking needed. Just enter through the front to take the elevator up to our floor.

We provide support in the areas of special education, healthcare, and health insurance. Some of our programs are our Cedar Family Center, Early Intervention, Family Voices Program, Parent Training and Information Center, Medical Home Portal, and our Call Center (or RIREACH) that deals with health insurance questions. Please contact us directly to learn more about the programs.

Even during COVID-19 our business hours are Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. While you can't visit the office at this time, please reach us digitally or by phone.

Hi Crystal: Thanks for the question. We do not charge for any of our services. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit that helps all Rhode Islander's, from infants to seniors. We can help you navigate: Special education and supports, Specialized services for children and young adults with disabilities, Healthcare and health insurance, Health education training, support, and resources, and more.
