I have only good things to say about the service at this consulate. Dr. Claudia was simply 5*. I went from nyc to Rhode island because there wasn't a single consulate in the area, including NJ, CT that could make me the documents I urgently needed. Cláudia from the beginning was super helpful, and in the process, already at the consulate, she was fast, efficient and with immense kindness. It was worth traveling 3h to go to this consulate. Tip: you don't need to make an appointment, you just have to go between 9:30-1:00 pm.

Has this consulate closed? I also try to call and they don't answer.
If you are Portuguese or if you get married at the Portuguese consulate, yes you can make the request through the consoled.
Yes
I think it's 9:30 - 1:00 pm
Yes. It's best to stop by and make an appointment. Once you have an appointment they are very friendly and knowledgeable. I too found it frustrating, no one answers to make an appointment.
You have to go there in person it is open from 9.00 and closes at 1.00 in the afternoon
They will probably not respond. Best bet is to go there in person. That is what I had to do.
Same problem. I’ve left messages to no avail.
They're only open for appointments until 1:00 however after many failed attempts to reach them via phone and email I just showed up.
Or you can send a email they will call you back
No travel planned . I found the consulate understaff but otherwise it was a okay experience.
Mike for my understanding only your need is your birth certificate what was the name of your mom, she's Portuguese would help you get your citizen.. good luck .. put for sure the Consultant there in Providence the Ladies are Amazing.. good Luck 😊

Yes
And it will be very well taken care of.
How long does it take to get your citizenship certificate at the consulate?
Formally speaking it will take 4 weeks but you can easily expect a 6 week waiting.
yes, assuming you meet the requirements for citizenship in Portugal.
On Thanksgiving Day, closed.
