Higgins is the original farm-to-table restaurant in Portland. The food is great! We come here every once in a while for special occasions. The service is really good too, particularly if you measure by whether your water glass stays full. You will likely need a reservation, though you could get lucky and be seated without one. I recommend this place.

We've been wanting to eat there for some time. It has a humble atmosphere. No gimmics or over played decor. Smart and well informed wait staff. The meal was very well prepared. A thoughtfully assembled dish with some clever pairings of sides. We were expecting good, but we were very impressed.
They do. The bar has a great menu, including a few things you can't get in the main restaurant. The burger in the bar is awesome

Business causal, I wear always where a dress and heels. It's not a rule, but as long as it's not holey, stained, frumpy, where something you'd wear when meeting your partners parents for the first time. It's a great place, dress appropriately.
We were told no when we went there. Pretty rudely too.
