Stonington Point is a great place to visit by car. After driving through the quaint village of Stonington with its narrow one way streets the road ends at the point of land. The gravel parking lot rimmed by flat stone and low breakwater holds the original fishing village charm. Views include Sandy Point with it's narrow channel to Westerly, Napatree Point extending from Watch Hill where the Ocean House is seen on the skyline. Between Napatree Point and Fishers Island is a clear view of the ocean where fishing boats may be seen avoiding hidden reefs as they pass through Lourdes Passage. Fishers Island and Latimer Lighthouse are seen beyond larger breakwaters. Inside the breakwaters Stonington harbor is home to some of the finest sailing yachts in the area. Picnic tables are available for those wishing to spend more time in this scenic ocean village.

Nice place, limited parking. Great view of the water and there is a small public beach.
