Overpriced new books and limited selection of used books. Quaint ambiance. Take some lessons from Powell books and the store can be that much more. Till then, I'll stick to half price books and online.

It's great to have a local independent bookstore.. There are so few remaining. Bazwells has a warm welcoming atmosphere and they will order anything for you If you don't find it in the store.

I moved to Milwaukee recently from a small town with no bookstores, so I was delighted to find that there was a store less than half a mile from my new home. Turns out, not only is there a bookstore, there's Boswell! It has a selection comparable to large chain stores and is right in the heart of the Upper East Side. It was no surprise to read in Shepard Express that they are Milwaukee's best-ranked bookstore. I usually get hard-to-find magazines from B&N because no one else carries them, but Boswell does. They also have a great selection of recommended books from the staff that makes it real easy to choose your next read. I'm grateful places like this exist!!!

It's well organized, cozy, and well managed. The staff is friendly and helpful. They also leave notes which provide a small compendium on some of the shelved books, which for me was quite amusing and helpful. Prices are reasonable and hey there's a Starbucks right next door so you can sip and read.
