Safeway and the plaza owners need to step their game up. The plaza needs help. This is a great and valuable asset to the community. I love shopping at this Safeway for the past 22+ years that I have worked in the neighborhood. I have always received great customer service and a quick checkout. Now the undesirable folks who are roaming the aisles to see what they can get over on is another story. But, the store needs to hire the right folks to to help filter these folks out.

OK place to get most basics of the "standard American diet ", but also has aisle devoted to specialty foods like kosher, Asian, Mexican, Indian etc. If it's convenient for you I'd say go. Prices mid-range. Tolerant of dogs on leashes but check out lines can be VERY LONG after work and weekends.

I fell in line at the sandwich counter.at 6:25 p.m., second in line. At 6:30 the sandwich artist bluntly told me that he closes now and just like that he wouldn't serve me anymore. I called the store number and asked for the store manager, who had left for the day and the customer service representative told me that she would send me the assistant manager. Patiently waiting, at 6:40 no assistant manager showed up and while I called the store again, the sandwich maker decided to still make me a sandwich after all.

I shop here because it's the closest Safeway to my place. 3 of 5 ladies at the deli counter are helpful. I keep getting the same one, and she's getting better. Have patience. Expect long lines on Saturdays. Later weekday evenings are fairly open easy sailing compared to other Safeways in the city.
