It is a nice peaceful family oriented park. People from little kids to retirees love walking or biking along trails.

i stopped by almaden lake park because of the water lantern festival and when my friends and i first arrived it was still bright out so i was able to get a good look around the area. id say this park is great for kids, family, pets - and there's a lot of spots around the lake to have picnic, benches to relax at, play sports, fishing, and more. definitely would come back to hang out with friends & family!

Almaden Lake has some rustic beauty about itself. It has ducks and geese going around, lots of grass, shrubs and trees etc. It is quite different from Leo J Riyan Park, Foster City. The hills in the backdrop add to the beauty of the lake and the sunset is great. However, the Washroom and lawns could be maintained better. How about some small children's park ?

The place is beautiful in the evening especially during sunset. The trail walk is clean and well maintained too. If you are looking for a walk place with scenic view and a water body to go around, this is definitely the place to go. Please like this review if you found it useful. Thanks !!

Yes & it's good.
Yes. Nice bass lake, some catfish. Loaded with carp. Mercury mine upriver, signs say do not eat. Some cutthroat trout, strict rules for them
I believe that Roshan is just about right, there was a natural waterway that was more creek like that had a natural basin to it and would occasionally flood but when the damn was built they helped mother nature go ahead and make the lake and they've tweaked it here and there to make it what it is now
Hi Debi I'm not sure. You can call to check.
I talked to a fisher man there who does it his catch.
I’ve caught several blue gill, some trout although rare, a lot of LMB , recently a 3 lb LMB, and lots of minnows schooling around. Staff is okay with fishing just not swimming or eating the fish.
At the moment the website says Monday - Sunday: 8 A.M. - one half hour after sunset Open Memorial Day, July 4th Holiday Monday, Labor Day
I have been trying to call the line is always busy
Just bring a can of green giant corn, a pole and a rig up with size 4 hooks and swivel sinkers, or sliding sinks and half dozen split shots...and if theres a carp near which im sure there is, get ready for the fight of your life....CHEERS
Yes it a bird sanctuary and there is no public access to. Sometime during the summer they have paddles boat you can go round the island.
YES INDEED...PARK RANGERS AND DFG ARE ALWAYS WITHIN SIGHT....
Yes
I believe that the powers that be are concerned about water conservation, the sprockets will turned on the buck of time!
Not this year
I don't know. I had no idea of the history but now eager to go and find out
Yes it's open today the 31st. It's closed Jan 1st and 2nd though.
Yes, park on one of the streets around, it's free
Only if you want to glow mercury silver colored like the old school temperature thermometers....
September 15th
The water is so polluted with mercury from the silver mines that there are signs every where saying "don't touch the water" but if you want to fish there at your own risk, then yes you'll need a license.
If your asking if you can have a jumper there.. I say call
Catfish, bullheads, caro, koi carp, bass, crawdads, squawfish, suckers, steelhead (a few left) bluegill, and turtles...turtles galore...
8:30 am
You need to pay a permit fee to reserve the covered picnic areas and uncovered for group party area's. $200-$250
8:15 PM
If you park in the lot theres a fee. I believe its between $5-$10. Street parking is convenient and free
Anybody knows that somewhere has big carp or gold fish ?
I dont think so
I don't think so i have never seen any.
First come first serve. .😕
There are signs that say that fishing or swimming is not allowed
ON COLEMAN RD. SIDE OF LAKE, RIGHT BEFORE BIKE TRAIL VEERS TOWARD PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE...AT BENCH ABOUT 150 FT. FROM BRIDGE....
I don't believe there are rules against it, but watch out - Almaden lake has very high levels of Mercury - that's why you hardly see people in the lake too often. Should be fine every once in a while, though. tldr there aren't any signs saying you can't so why not? ☺️
NO WAY...UNLESS YOU WANNA BE A RECTAL THEREMOMETER FOR HALLOWEEN...DO NOT EAT ANYTHING FROM THERE, AND WASH YOUR HANDS OR WHEREVER IF YOU GET SPLASHED OR FALL IN....ROTSA RUCK, RAGGY...
You can reserve the picnic tables by calling the office, like Veronica said. Or, alternatively, you can arrive early and claim them. Good luck!
They have built-in charcoal BBQ pits so i doubt it. You should probably try calling the park just to make sure.
To be honest, and to be certain I don't know for sure I have seen tents there on the periphery on holidays before however on a regular basis I can't recall!
Go to front gate and pray, good luck.
There is a kiosk at the gate that has instructions and a payment box. Don't forget, there is plenty of free street parking available.
Closes at sunset. It is posted
Hello clara
Probably but not much fishes best place for finishing is under the bridge where the water is coming out from the lake to the river
Paddle boats are closed since no swimming or boating is allowed due to water contamination.
