My cousin lived there for almost two years, and she loved it!

Susana who processes applications, is not helpful. She takes her time to reply to emails and is very evasive/“busy” when you call. I finally received an email reply saying I was put on a ‘waitlist’ although she previously told me to submit my application because rooms were available and therefore I had agreed to pay the $200 application fee. I would not suggest staying here. The way I was treated during the application process and the lack in communication was extremely unprofessional. Unfortunately, Columbia University admins had recommended The Markle to me as an out-of-state student so I believed it would be a respectable place but was very disappointed. I reported the incident to Columbia University admins as well so that hopefully no other student experiences the same mistreatment.

I lived at the Markle for several very happy years in 2011-2012, and 2016-2018. Unfortunately, my experience there went downhill sharply after the departure of Jessica and the instatement of the Orrs. I can no longer recommend that young women live in such a hostile environment, where Marci Orr in particular relishes using her authority to bully and generally make life more difficult for residents. If you're considering the Markle, choose the Webster instead—thankfully, I live there now and it's MUCH cheaper, in addition to being free of the unpleasantness and weirdness that now pervades goings-on at the Markle.
