Fantastic campground! Owners Karl & Shelly are wonderful, friendly, easygoing people. Staff is extremely polite and helpful, campers are open, friendly and very helpful. Quiet and peaceful hideaway for the season! Lovely campsites, Schroon River is both beautiful and relaxing. Loads of activities for the population to enjoy every weekend! Very welcoming and open place! Couldn't be happier with being a seasonal camper at Medcalf! Highly recommend this campground!

Very Friendly Staff person … it’s an ok place needs a lot of TLC on the campground an overly priced .. I would consider other places to stay then this being a 1st choice spot it would be a spot to stay as a if you absolutely had to … The place has a lot of potential too bad it’s not cared for like most campgrounds I’ve stayed at …

We just spent 8 nights at Metcalf Acres. I found them through a Google search. To be honest, I thought their website was crowded with information and a bit difficult to navigate but the reservation was easy to make on-line. When I had a question, I called and Karl picked up on the first ring. Karl answered all of my questions. The campsite did not disappoint. We had a riverside site and without leaving the campground, we could tube down the lazy river for 50 mins. Our dogs were welcome and loved the shallow waters. The campground lies beneath an established pine tree forest and offers shade at any point of the day. Many efforts are made for the campground to co-exist with its natural habitat, including eco-friendly mosquito management. The river water is warm, clear and, the river shores are free of human clutter. The (full) band that played on the Saturday (East Coast Cowboys) were fantastic (especially young Maddison). The setting was quaint and private with a newer amphitheatre near the beach and communal camp fire. Note: Free wifi, cable, fully service sites, great play structure for the children, laundry on-site (small fee), store on-site, fire wood and ice can be purchased on-site. This campground has everything we were looking for and I have already rebooked our site for the whole month of September. As much as we would like to keep this gem to our selves, we highly recommend this place. We can't ask for a better set-up for our tiny vintage Trillium trailer. See photo.
