Hopefully this is a good place. However, maybe they need to watch their shared phone for the residents a bit closer - got a call from their number early on a Sunday morning from some random person ranting about how they were going to kill their cheating boyfriend/girlfriend.

If I could give negative stars, I would. The staff at Embry Rucker shelter operated by Cornerstones needs complete overhaul (except for one really decent employee named Deonte). The rest medically neglect disabled program participants via dereliction of duty, specifically pertaining to failure to timely dispense medication in accordance with the instructions, and the shelter refuses to abide by crucial and feasible accommodations ordered by disabled participant's physician. Program participants have been forced to wait outside in cold frigid temperatures at 7am for breakfast whenever there aren't enough chairs inside (even when standing room is available). They don't allow the participants to shower everyday, personal belongings have been repeatedly thrown in the garbage by staff, and rogue staff members kick program participants out of the shelter in retaliation for blowing the whistle on their misconduct. I have video evidence of staff deliberately leaving a program participant out in the cold all because they were angry that I kept alerting them to promptly open the door per their job responsibilities, so they maliciously ignored the door to prove a point. The staff members names who did this is are James and Tracy. A staff member by the name of Crystal is the one responsible for throwing participant's personal belongings in the garbage. Crystal is also verbally abusive, as she threatens your residency at the shelter if at any time you challenge or resist her abusive behaviors. It is psychologically unethical and barbaric to coerce obedience by threatening to strip away one's basic need for shelter. This shelter needs to be shut down to recruit new staff. Please keep Deonte and promote him to a leadership role. He performs his job in a way that preserves the dignity of the program participants and makes them feel valued.

That will depend on if you get a bed at the shelter. Also, they will try to get you into normal housing as quickly as they can.
Yes, but contact them to see if they are in need of what you have and there is a food Pantry near Lake Ann ran by the same organization that supports Embry Rucker which is Cornerstones in Reston.
I called them and asked the same question today. They only accept new articles of clothing.

If you're apart of the program that they have where you apply for a temporary room and bed, then mostly likely no. If you're just there for shelter and services, then they don't mind you staying other places. So yes, they will give you that opportunity.
