We didn’t have time to do a lot of exploring, but we went a little ways over the boardwalk and then around some of the water views and to see the flag. This place is huge. The flag is amazing. We will definitely be back! Bring water if you go in the heat, there is some shade as you walk but a lot of it is open to the sun!

Freedom park itself is only a couple miles around several waterways
Yes, there are areas where you can bring your dogs but dogs must be kept on leash.
It is really nice to do done walking and site seeing. They gave a small muesum inside for kids and misc. Great place to visit.
Beach passes are available for city and county residents. No state beach stickers issued here.

There are several trail options which let you make your walk fit you. I believe all the options are less than a mile but you can string several options together and do a distance you are comfortable with.
Green way has longer trails. It's adjacent to Free Park.

No. It's not really a place I would spend all day, the fishing isn't great, lots of turtles and gators. I would just hike around it, pay respects at the 9/11 memorial and move on. If you want a place to spend your day, try directly across the street at Gordon Greenway. Hope this helps. :)
