Excellent place to experience a truly dark sky. In the summer months head over to Lyman Run lake to see the Milky way galaxy with the naked eye. This is also a great place to go camping for the night or week.

Amazing lake and dam. Hikes are also very nice. Overall a good facility to spend a fun day

Gorgeous view up/down in the mountain. Beautiful forest with many trails on for hiking / ATV / 4X4. Very quiet and Zen in September great place for hiking / family trip etc.

We took a drive to Lyman run for the first time. Absolutely beautiful. It was towards the evening and the scenery was breathtaking. We will definitely come back to kayak.

Yes
I'm camping there Sunday 6/20/19. I was lucky and got the last reservation the day before. Due to it's close proximity to Cherry Springs state park known for it's great stargazing viewing it's hard to get a space when the weather is predicted to be clear as it is for tonight.
You can rent kayaks and canoes overnight so I believe so, just have to have a light on it.
Possibly by the boat launch
I would have no idea
Its pay showers when the campground is open mid-April through mid-December.
I believe that they do
I know that before that did the repairs on the dam there were some nice catfish and some carp.
Some of the trails at Lyman Run are part of the Susquehanna Trail System, or STS. These trails are for hiking and are open year round. They are maintained by a private club. Other trails are ATV trails. These are maintained by the State. According to the DCNR website, ATVs may be driven on trails or township roads within the park during the 2019 and 2020 seasons. I'm guessing they mean until Labor Day, which is when they close the public beach and concessions.
There are no playgrounds at Lyman Run State Park.
No there is not an organized group tenting area. There are two campgrounds. Visit https://www.dcnr.pa.gov/StateParks/FindAPark/LymanRunStatePark/Pages/default.aspx
Yep! On our first visit we got so confused we drove and stopped at Lyman thinking it was Cherry Springs. I'm not sure about the "main" road that comes from Galeton, but there is another, unpaved, road that will take you up to route 6 and has never been blocked in my 5 visits here. Basically, if you drive out with the reservoir to your LEFT you end up on that road. I dont see why it would be different in winter unless it is closed for snow.
The bathroom i was in was pretty clean nice place if you ask me!😊
I would definitely call.
If you're debating whether you should stay at Cherry Spring or stay at Lyman and driver over, it's definitely worth it to stay at Lyman and driver over. It's about a 15 minute drive, give or take a few minutes depending on how you drive. Very easy to pop over for stargazing and then drive back to your campsite
