A great spot to view birds, mostly ducks, geese, and cranes with the occasional bald eagle too

We saw numerous discarded hypodermics, dozens of broken bottles, a trashed old bathtub, graffiti, and even a hidden tent with somebody in it. Fortunately no encounters with any of the indigenous peoples. Oh, and there were some birds, too.

Why is the Utica Marsh Wildlife Management Area so low on water right now (June 2020)? The main marsh to the west is beginning to look like a mud pit.

No it's a wildlife reserve

How do we get to view the marsh from rye 12 there is so much beauty and wildlife to see.I want to stop right on 12 and get out of my car with my binoculars

Go by aqua vino restaurant off of Genesee st. In North Utica. Park in front of NYS DOT and take the trail along the Barge. One Mile down you will go under Rt. 12 and be at the marsh.
