I have been using Marion Transportation for about 5 years. When I make my appointments for a ride some people are rude, some are ok but they have a woman named Yvonne, she is the nicest and friendliest person to answer the phones. She sounds like she is happy at her job not just doing it. I don’t know if there is an employee of the month but she deserves some recognition from the people in charge of hiring.

I called Marion Transit to see if I could qualify 2 yrs. Ago and was met with very rude "no" because I had medicaid. Again I tried 2 weeks ago to see if the criteria had changed and was told, "We don't go to assisted living faciĺities". I told him that my assisted living facility does not offer transportation and he just repeated himself. I thought that if a person is poor enough to get medicaid; they are too poor to use a taxi service of which I am...I thought Marion Transit was for all Marion seniors who needed it and not just the few that can be put into a different economical status. Who can seniors in this predicament depend on and trust?? NOONE AT MARION TRANSIT!!! If you have ever been in this predicament or close to it let me know.

The best thing to do is that you call in for her and do an intake, but if you feel that she’s in danger you can call DCF to check on her and if they see that she’s in a vulnerable situation they will automatically refer her to Marion Senior services. I hope this information has been helpful
I am not sure, but please keep trying, don't give up hope. Maybe it just has something to do with the Holdays.
