I am a volunteer at the Salvation Army and I think the staff and the whole organization is very amazing. They help people in different areas that need help. Also The staff is very professional and they will listen to anyone who needs help. God bless them.

I never thought that I would witness Salvation Army not opening the doors to the public predicated upon CDC guidelines in 900 W. Adams Street, Downtown Jacksonville Florida. I'm a Licensed Master Social Worker seeking to connect or network with the Salvation Army to find opportunities, and the woman behind the intercom was rude, unprofessional and sarcastic. Even New York City Salvation Army is opened to the public and are very warm and eager to help people. It was a very terrible experience and the Salvation Army management team needs to have a conversation with that lady, and open its door to the public. Can you imagine if Jesus Christ would have closed his doors to humanity because "I'm following CDC guidelines"? Nobody would experienced Salvation. Maybe the public should closed its pocketbooks to the Salvation Army during the holiday seasons. I never expected that. Just can't make it up.

Yes, our 900 W. Adams St location has a shelter for single women and families. We also have a food pantry at this location. Call 904-356-8641 for information on availability. Hope that helps!
There is a pantry on the corner of Timuquana and Ortega across from El cheapo gas. They open on Saturday and Tuesday Or It maybe Wednesday, but I know for sure on Saturday.
Yes I went to the salvation army located downtown Jacksonville

Yes you could , Salvation Army in Fact allows that as long as you abide to the policies they say.

Yes. They have housing at to he Adams Street location
They do have a food bank. At the Adam's street location. It's open Monday through Friday.
If the person is a female, I encourage checking with Hubbard House first. The next for female and first for male is Schulzbacher. To stay at the downtown center, males pay rent.
Already happened.
Yes
Monday through Friday between 9 and 11 am a snack bag is given out.
Well salvation Army is pretty good you have a monthly rent.
The Salvation Army, at 900 W. Adams St. Jacksonville, rents rooms by the month when available. As far as getting back home I can only recommend staying at one of several homeless shelters downtown and working at a daily work, daily pay facility for your ticket home. Sorry I cant be more helpful.
Hi Doris, please call our Towers Center of Hope at 904-356-8641 and dial 0 to get to the front desk. They can tell you if we have funds available at this time, and how else we might be able to help. We also suggest you call the United Way at 211. They may have additional resources to recommend.
I'm not sure on the dates, just call there & ask them. They helped us after Irma.
