Really nice beach. The museum is small yet lots of information. The channel has some crazy currents so I don't recommend swimming on that side, but it is awesome to look at. The swimming side is great. Not too many people, restrooms, picnic pavilion and shower (outdoor so just rinsing the salt off) right by the parking lot. Come prepared with drinks and snacks.

This old lighthouse was my final destination on a 30-mile bike ride, a nice place, white sand beach (almost), a small museum with a souvenir shop very close to the town of Boca Grande that has that air of living an eternal summer of the 60s

No it's open to just walk through but there are people there to tell you things if you want

The entire building is the lighthouse. The main level is where you will find our nature and history museum and the gift shop. Beginning November 2022, we will be offering private museum tours that include a climb to the top. Limited dates, so please check our website at www.BIPS.org. We should have the dates available listed sometime before fall.
No climbing, the lighthouse is not on the mouth of Boca. On the mouth is an elevated museum accessed by stairs. It has a deck for viewing and the museum is a wonderful place to learn about local history, this includes the sea life.
Parking is $3.00 for the whole day for the whole park. There is no charge for the museum, but donations are accepted and appreciated.
