Not quite sure..
Legal aid helps with a lot of thingsit just depends on what your battle is and you got to be right going up in there to handle your business with them folks cuz they don't play no games
You can contact Legal Aid for possible assistance. https://www.lawhelpnc.org/organization/legal-aid-of-north-carolina-durham-office?ref=6rt0p#contact-tab
It depends if you have an attorney with them or not. It can take a good amount of time on the phone and /or in their office to apply for and get an attorney. You have to basically apply to them and ask for help. From that point on its different for everyone. Depends on what you need, what they offer, and how many lawyers are available to help you with what you need. Remember they don't handle criminal cases and this is a free service so don't expect it to be the same wait time you would have hiring one you pay. Once you are given an attorney the wait time is much shorter and you can talk to your attorney directly in office or on the phone. Sorry I can't give you an exact time as its different for everyone but hope this helps. It's definitely worth trying for if you need help.
Hi. I'm sorry about your impending divorce. I'm not sure if Legal Aid does divorce cases but it never hurts to ask. Call them early if possible but be aware that often you have to leave messages for them to call you back because they don't always answer the main phone immediately. Once you get a lawyer you will have their direct number so that is easier. You can also go online to apply for help at their website. I wish you the best of luck.
