This rating reflects my opinion regarding the quality of the car and the service provided from Habberstad of Bay Shore, the service center. The vehicle in question is the 2016 X-5, which I bought from Habberstad of Bay Shore, as a certified pre-owned vehicle, in October 2018 (with about 38k miles). Firstly, I want to express how disappointed I am in the performance of my 2016 BMW X-5 itself. In SEP-21, the car had only 55,000 miles on it when the left rear air spring failed. The cost of repair was just over $1,000. During the diagnostic check that I was required to pay for, there was no indication that there was a problem with the right suspension. Now in SEP-22, at 64,000 miles, the right air suspension failed at a cost of $2,300. This does not include the 4 hour and $500 diagnostic check. I question whether someone really spent 4 hours looking at the right rear suspension (more on that later). Why has the left and right rear suspension failed so spectacularly after only 55k and 64k miles, respectively (at an estimated cost of nearly $4,000). This car is in the SUV class, which in theory is supposed to be able to be driven more ruggedly. That said, this car is driven lightly on main roads, and I drive about 6k - 7k miles per year. The vehicle is flawed and this is not the performance you would expect from BMW, who pride themselves, as their advertisements say, to be "Driven by Excellence." Secondly, I want to express my disappointment with the Habberstad Service Center. As previously mentioned, I have my doubts on the charge for the diagnostic check, which included a 32 point assessment that I didn't want or need. Included in the diagnostic "Vehicle Condition Report" was a single line item "customer states air suspension on right rear side of the vehicle" and a repair quote for $2,245.90. There was no indication of what parts or labor make up that charge. In disgust, I collected my X-5 from Habberstad and considered having it looked at by another mechanic. The day after I collected my car, I received a text from the Service Center Representative advising that I would be getting an a text requesting a review of my experience, and if I wasn't satisfied with my experience I should text him back to give him the opportunity "to do everything within my power to gain your confidence." I advised the Habberstad Representative that my review would express my disappointment in the car and service, as noted above. This was on the morning of 08-SEP-22, a Thursday. The Service Center Representative responded saying that he would get back to me with a revised quote. I chased for the revised quote on Friday afternoon and I was told "I am writing a quote for you now. Working with the technician just taking some time without the car present." You must see the irony in the Representative's comment, considering I initially objected to being charged 4 hours for the diagnostic check. I chased Saturday, as the Service Center was open, but my text was not answered. I chased on Monday to learn that "...the quote (is) ready for you just waiting to see what my manager can do on the price for you but he is off today." Tuesday and Wednesday came and went, and I received no revised quote. At this point I had my local mechanic fix my car. I bought this car from Habberstad of Bay Shore because I thought BMW produced high quality vehicles. Apparently I was wrong. I would not recommend BMW or Habberstad.

Was not happy at all. The car was there almost 1 week The car was sent out for 199.00 detailing and the inside of the car was not done. In addition they never told me a warning light was still on my dashboard leaving me with the inconvenience of taking the vehicle back again

The engine service indicator light can come on for many reasons. What's most important is that you call us and schedule an appointment so that we can diagnose the situation. Although you may not feel, hear or see a change in your vehicle's performance, there may be an issue that will only get worse the longer you wait to have it checked.
