I had an amazing experience recently. I came in to remove the appendicitis. The in and out was 24 hours. Most importantly, every nurse was empathetic and treated me with dignity. The doctor repeatedly spent the time explaining the assessment and my options. This gave me comfort in a helpless situation. Big thank you to the entire care team. You rock ! God bless !

I came with severe dizziness, nausea, sensory changes, and balance problems. The front desk person who checked me in seemed absolutely uncaring. Then, I waited for at least 15 minutes, and nobody came to do a triage. These symptoms could represent a brainstem stroke, and I am shocked that they take so long to triage a patient. There was nobody at the triage desk. We left and went to Mill Creek ER which is a million times more efficient, and provides excellent care. The attitude of ER staff at Swedish Edmonds is not good. Never again coming to this hospital.

I am shocked to see such low ratings as both myself and my family have been to this emergency department multiple times over the past few years. This is one of THEE most sanitary EDs that I have been to. They have triage down to a science! Instead of waiting for hours to be seen, the triage nurse and/or PA gets you started right away with bloodwork. EKG, imaging etc. After each test, you may be briefly sent back to the HUGE waiting room which separates the patients with Covid symptoms from the non symptomatic patients. I was there during a heavy Covid day and they keep those patients in the rooms with the big, sliding glass doors closed in order to limit exposure. This is huge, as unfortunately, I have been there 5 times since 2020 BUT I did not contract Covid. The staff is pleasant, they have a good number of security officers, with a station right at the front door. In my opinion, it is MUCH safer than the other hospital just south of Shoreline. They keep the riff raff out allowing the medical teams to do their jobs.

The staff here is a freaking joke. Took my wife in for abdominal pain, dizziness, and unable to eat. She became unconscious in the waiting room several times and went without care. Then when I called several times to get someone to check on her they still did nothing. I asked for them to help her out so I could take her to a hospital that cares and they told her she is refusing care. She collapsed on the ER doctor. And he told her ,"get up you are fine." Their care is subpar and unless you only had seconds difference to live I wouldn't take my worst enemy to this ER.

Swedish ER is open 24/7.

Received a voicemail from Dr. Lee re blood test for Diane Owens. It said her potassium levels were low ... I should take her to emergency for her first dose. Is this actually an emergency or can I wait for delivery of the prescription?

Hello. It depends how low it is. You can also start potassium rich foods. Such as bananas, OJ, and avocados. If you are above 3 you can wait. If you are below 3 you should start supplements immediately.
