I’ve been a weekly volunteer at Sante D’Or for over 1.5 years, also fostering several pairs of kittens, helping with TNR, and even adopting my own two boys here. This is an incredible organization run by a group of badass women. The care given to all their rescues and the difference they’re making in their TNR program to help strays in the community is phenomenal. I couldn’t recommend a better place to look for your forever furbaby or to volunteer than here. Experiencing the inside of rescue truly gives you a different perspective. You realize how understaffed and underfunded these organizations are, and yet they are still doing incredible things. Knowing this makes me feel sad reading some of these recent ‘bad’ reviews. In anyone’s journey of trying to make a difference in your community, the best thing is to be a solution to a problem instead of the problem. Know the #1 priority to any rescue is giving the best quality of life to the current animals in their care, which means they can’t always save/rescue/help the thousands of others that come to the door (as much as they want to). So it’s important to educate and empower yourself in those situations instead of putting more of a burden on the rescue.

My experience with this rescue has been nothing short of amazing! They are volunteer run with a small staff that does everything and they truly care about the animals and try to help as many as they can. That’s why reading some of the reviews bothers me. Clearly, most who complain do not realize that they are a very small staff. They are busy pretty much 24/7 year round. During kitten season, they’re even more inundated with requests for help so they can’t help everyone who emails them. Sadly, some people take that as the rescue being selfish and unhelpful when in reality they care for the animals more than people realize, and can only do so much with the small team that they have.

DO EVEN BOTHER CONTACTING!!!!! Just like MOST cat adoption places they actually waste your time then end up doing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to help or even give advice. If you are kind hearted enough to rescue a cat off the street look elsewhere for help and come to the realization that you now have a cat because you WILL NOT GET ANY HELP HERE!!!!!! TOTALLY WORTHLESS!!!! STAY FAR AWAY!!!!

Where you able yo get one already erik
Call the shelter and ask. If there are fosters available, they'll probably take them.
There's always many in foster care. They come to visit and meet me families on the weekends. Spring marks the beginning of kitten season, so there will be more and more babies as the weather continues to get warmer
Always. Just stop by or check the website for details.
Hello! Our adoption process can sometimes take a week as they require an application and home check before a cat is able to be adopted.
Yep! He helped redo the inside of the shelter.
Yes, they do home checks prior to any adoption. All reputable adoption groups do this.
You need to call or email Sante D'Or directly. This forum is just for customers to share reviews.
Check with Kitty Bungalow. They work with feral cats.
Sometimes there are a couple of dogs in foster homes, so it's worth asking.
Bring her in during the day time, there are people who can help you. Preferably the weekend when they are open.
