Easiest way is to call the Avalon theater and ask them directly they are open every day at 10am
We went last year and it was really great. I dont know how much it cost since it was part of our travel package, but im sure you could google the tickets, i remember them being available separately.
There is a casino on Catalina Island but there has never been gambling there. Casino is an italian word which means "gathering place". The top floor is the largest ballroom in the entire world, and the bortom floor is the worlds first theater made for both silent and talking picture films.
You can buy your tickets at the theature before the show.
I'd like to advise you best way that search their website please.
I didn't know they did movies like that
In Between 12:30p 3:00p 5:30p 8:00p
Coco is playing from Dec 15 to Dec 28. Ferdinand will play from Dec 29 to Jan 4, 2018. All shows are 7:30PM nightly.
There typically aren't any discounts from hotels.
Classic movies!
They do have an elevator at the casino which holds about six people according to the tour guide. However if you are in a wheelchair, you might be able to go up to the top via the ramps. There are no stairs in the building only ramps going from floor to floor. I would think you would need at least one person to help you ascend these ramps.
We got our tour thru the hotel we stayed at, it was a part of our package. If you go onto Catalina Express there is a link to buy the tickets from the tour company. Buy them now, as the tours sell out very quickly. It is definitely worth taking it. We have been to Catalina 3 times and the first 2 times thought we would buy them there and they were sold out. Buy the tickets before you go. Have fun!
At 6 PM the theater opens. They only have one movie only and one showing that's it.
No, it's not a casino like that. It's a ballroom & movie theater with a museum & cafe. Exceptional place to visit! It was one of the first "talkie" movie theater's in the age when most movies were silent.
Go to theavalon.org for movies & activities happening at the Avalon.
Once Upon A Time In Hollywood is showing until the 22nd
They list the movies ahead of time around the local community boards,, which are cylindrical shaped & located near where the docks meet the walking paths. Normally children's movies only run for 1 week, larger block busters run for 2 or more depending.
Aladdin will be showing then
Might be too early to know yet, give them a call. I would Highly Suggest Going on the weekends they have a beautiful antique pipe organ and somebody who plays it on Saturdays and Sundays about 15 to 20 minutes prior to the movie starting, totally worth it.
The website doesn't say, so it must not be finalized yet. It does say Dumbo is playing until the 11th. Seeing any movie here is worth it. Its a beautiful theatre.
It's an old theater. They show movies. I watched The avengers there.
This week the movie is Bohemian Rhapsody. It changes every Friday unless it is a first week release.
It's $14 per person for a 45 minute tour...worth doing once.
You can find out on the chamber of commerce website
