I think initially they want a picture ID to start with so they can verify that you are who you claim you are. There are no foolish and obnoxious questions like how much income you have and where you get it and how much you pay for shelter. This is a VERY RARE community service organization that actually tries to help you instead of degrade you
Parking in the Church parking lot will get you towed away.
Just go in with your Id and be truthful and they will help you. they open at 11am so go early if you don't want to have a long wait. Ps they do get busy.

Hi, I can answer this for you. They are open Monday through Friday and they open at 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. It doesn't matter what zip code you are in, as long as you are in Sacramento County, you can go there.
Some of the food banks have a stipulation now on the size of your family. But the big turkey giveaway in Oak Park doesn't . All you have to do is listen for the day they will be doing the giveaway. Salvation army.
On MONDAY, NOVEMBER 20, 2017, quite easily, more than 8 THOUSAND PEOPLE will be weaving through Oak Park for many blocks. Its a long walk to the end of the line, Volunteers will direct you and give you a ticket with a number on it. The number of people seems overwhelming to the uninitiated. Don't let the masses intimidate you. When the line starts moving at 8am, it REALLY moves. Arriving before 6am is fun but totally unnecessary. Even if you're last in line, you'll be home with your food before noon. The line starts moving at 8am. Do not line up prior to 6 am. Dress in layers, comfy shoes and bring a chair or cushion to sit on. (Save time in line! Arrive around 9 am.) Distribution typically ends 11 am or noon. One turkey or ham & two bags of side items to each family until gone. One set of meal items per household.
