On MONDAY, NOVEMBER 20, 2017, quite easily, more than 8 THOUSAND PEOPLE will be weaving through Oak Park for many blocks. Its a long walk to the end of the line, Volunteers will direct you and give you a ticket with a number on it. The number of people seems overwhelming to the uninitiated. Don't let the masses intimidate you. When the line starts moving at 8am, it REALLY moves. Arriving before 6am is fun but totally unnecessary. Even if you're last in line, you'll be home with your food before noon. The line starts moving at 8am. Do not line up prior to 6 am. Dress in layers, comfy shoes and bring a chair or cushion to sit on. (Save time in line! Arrive around 9 am.) Distribution typically ends 11 am or noon. One turkey or ham & two bags of side items to each family until gone. One set of meal items per household.
