Came to Max's for dinner with my mom on a Tuesday evening. It was fairly crowded so we sat outside (amazing weather for SF so it was lovely). The chairs aren't very comfortable at the outside tables. Service was fine, but the wine list was disappointingly limited with few California options. The food was just okay as well. We had crab cakes, pork sliders and onion rings and while all were edible, nothing stood out as impressive. For the cost, I don't think we would return, especially since this was a meal out on a trip. I do note that the restaurant is walking distance from our hotel which was how we ended up there, but in the future I would go a bit farther for something better.

When wanting the best comfort food Max's is where to go. My particular favorite is Grandma’s Honey Roasted Chicken with mixed vegetables (Roasted Brussel sprouts and onions) and potatoes. Get a little bit of everything on one bite dipped in that savory juice and you're brain is sprinkled in that home love taste!!

This place is amazing. Great food and ambiance and our waitress, Nicole was the best. This place has history as it has been operating since 1978. Very convenient location as it was just steps away from our hotel, Holiday Inn Express. I absolutely recommend this place to dine in,dine out, or just have a drink and a friendly smile

Food was good and mojito as well but bit pricy. Little bit of wait for both getting seated and food coming though it was worth trying.
