A stone's throw from the ocean, The Breakers on the Ocean Hotel and Restaurant is a superior establishment by any measure. Featuring an unbeatable location; beautiful views; clean, comfortable, quiet rooms; a delicious made-to-order breakfast; and a refreshing outdoor pool with plenty of chairs, towels, and umbrellas, The Breakers is the perfect place to relax and get-away-from-it-all. Lunch ordered and served by the pool was quick and easy - the house salad with house-made dressing was delicious. A drink before dinner on the expansive porch leaves time for reflection, reading, or conversation while the sun sets behind the hotel and the cool breezes blow. The restaurant was an added, unexpected bonus. In a comfortable dining room with excellent service, the food was scrumptious. The Cold Antipasto for Two, Veal Scallopini and Shrimp Scampi are highly recommended. Mashed potatoes for the table rounded out the meal leaving no room for dessert. Miles of boardwalk (free of t-shirts shops and carnival rides) provide respite for walking or running alongside the ocean and away from cars. On top of all this, Spring Lake, within walking distance of the hotel, is a quaint town with a wide variety of shops. Highly recommended!

So far my experience has not been good. Regarding customer service only 1 of the 3 people I have had to speak to have been polite and helpful. My first call when I reserved the room the representative was almost combative when I said that the wedding party stated on their invitation that the hotel would accommodate a one-night stay because its a one day event. She disagreed entirely and told me it wasn't possible. But then she was able to book me for a room for one night, so i dont know why she was upset with me for stating such. And she gave me a more expensive room because i talked about this with a friend that also booked there and her room was about $100 less than mine (i did book before her, so i would think i would have more options, it is entirely possible that at the time this was the only available room, but the attitude of the rep makes me think she booked me in the more expensive room purposefully). Very antiquated that you have to send a check via mail to reserve a room, even after they take card information over the phone. Website is not very helpful, and I called ahead to see if they provide irons or steamers and I got a short no, the person who answered seemed annoyed that I asked but most hotels I go to provide them? I always check beforehand because I don't want to be wrinkled! I will update when we complete our stay.

This was our first time staying at the Breakers on the Ocean, and it was wonderful. The rooms are amazingly clean and roomy. We had an Ocean View that couldn't be beat and a gas fireplace. The staff were all friendly, helpful, and courteous. The food was incredible. The Chef was a definite keeper. Every day we were not disappointed. We walked the boardwalk every day...it was a little on the cool side as we were there April 4th to 6th, but it really was wonderful!! It made a great getaway just to relax, which was very much needed. We will be back as often as we can. This will definitely be our go-to hotel for a relaxing time away. Thank you for a marvelous time!!!

Their delicious dinners are only enhanced by the outstanding view from the dining room. Good crowd on Valentines weekend...everything getting back to normal? Only disappointment was the chocolate cake we had for dessert...it was hard as a rock...the cake was as hard as the chocolate chips embedded within the icing. Very unlike the Breakers.
