Very clean building and kind staff. The construction right now makes parking an absolute mess but once you're inside, it's very nice.

I was diagnosed with cancer in Feb 2022. Unfortunately, I had transferred to the UCD Medical group in Mar 2022 and was assigned to Dr Gary Leiserowitz who is the a chief and administrator who has been at UCD for 40+ years. Dr Leiserowitz treats women as was common in the 1970's - you have no rights and must relinquish total control over to him. If you don', he will retaliate. I had necessary surgery scheduled and he abruptly canceled the surgery at my pre-OP appointment because I asked for him (or anyone) to explain information on a consent form. Instead of having a 5 minute conversation so I could sign the consent form, Leiserowitz abruptly canceled my surgery. His expectation was for me to blindly sign all forms and NOT have informed consent. He then lied in my medical record and said I canceled the surgery. Leiserowitz subsequently used his management position to block my treatment from any doctor. Clearly his intent was to harm or kill me, which I found, he has done to several of his other female patients. I contacted UCD patient relations for assistant and all they did was to enable Leiserowitz. Jocelyn Ward, the patient relations "manager" has no care or concern for patients; her only concern is protecting bad doctors for UCD. At the UCD Comprehensive Cancer Care Center there is no "care" , let alone "comprehensive care". If you find yourself with cancer, at UC Davis they will kill you by neglect and make your life a living hell while they are doing it.

I am having my Retuximib infusion. The nurses are Very helpful. It is not my first time for this infusion, But it is my first time receiving it here. I am a hard stick so hearing that the nurse warmed my arm in a hot towel , tried once and when she didn't get it she called for the ultrasound tech. He was able to get it on the first try. I appreciate them not having to stick me 20+ times. And being very diligent to deal with all my allergies and still proceeded with the Infusion which I greatly need. Thanks for Dealing with this Special kind of Unicorn 🦄 And Making my day a lot easier.

I would avoid UC Davis for thyroid cancer treatment, in general. My thyroidectomy here with Dr. Michael Campbell was deeply regrettable. UCD doesn't appear to take thyroid cancer all that seriously nor offer the latest treatment options such as remote access/scarless procedures and they have a one-size-fits-all mentality with radioactive iodine. The UC Davis hospital also has high infection rates. You may want to consider Stanford.
I advise she seek follow up care elsewhere. UCD does not have updated methods. As a former cancer patient, I now have to go elsewhere for cancer care.
Hi Margaret, Self-parking is available for patients and visitors in Lot 4, behind the Cancer Center and adjacent to the water tower. Vehicles should enter the parking area through the ticket kiosk. Another option is to view our parking and transportation info for maps, shuttle service and additional parking options here: https://health.ucdavis.edu/cancer/patients-visitors/parking.html I hope this helps!
