Closest hospital to me had bring my daughter in bc I couldn't get her an appointment soon enough. Although most staff was polite and mannered, the few nurses we had to deal with were not friendly at all. Sit talk laugh and giggle at the desks while the rooms are worse then the county jail medical rooms. Just disgusting. Dry blood on walls and floors, bogers wiped on walls. If you aren't sick when you get here chances are you will be within a few days of leaving. Just awful.

My mother was admitted and was sent to ICU before this time I had had a pretty positive opinion of the hospital! The doctor’s last name was Hamilton, he was very young and completely completely ignorant and add to that a young ignorant nurse, both of whom tried to force me to refuse care for my mother! I couldn’t ever remember health care providers trying to force anyone to deny care for a loved one! I finally had to tell the doctor to leave me alone! Or else!

I recently went to ER with a broken wrist and possible concussion. Even though they were very, very busy, everyone was extremely nice and caring--from the young lady at check in to registration, triage, nurses, radiology and doctor. It wasn't an extremely quick visit but considering the number of people there waiting to be seen, I certainly feel it was reasonable and would have been similar, if not longer, anywhere else. My experience was the same when I returned a few days later for surgery. I wouldn't think twice about returning for care. My experience was extremely positive.

My actual name is Kevin Sheehan and if I could post zero stars I certainly would. From check in to registration to finally getting a bed in the ER was a nightmare. I previously reported on my experience here but apparently the powers to be at Northern took down there old site and replaced it,. Nice try in attempting to take down all the negative input but I will not be deterred. June 1, arrived at the ER approximately 500pm. Doesn’t appear to be busy at all. 530, finally get into a room. Seen by a nurse, BP taken, hooked up to EKG. Maybe after about an hour I’m seen by a doctor, cursory examination and no explanation as to what’s going on. Shift change comes around and staff changes. A couple of male nurses are now responsible for my care or should I say irresponsible. At this point I’m tired, hungry and need to urinate but my concerns are ignored. Nurses more concerned about playing games than caring for patients. Non responsive to requests for help. Another test was done to check for blood clotting. After an inordinate amount of time I’m seen by another doctor who informs me no heart attack but he’s determined to keep me overnight for further testing using scare tactics that if he releases me I could have a heart attack at home. Provided no valid reason for keeping me other then what I’m assuming administration’s instructions to hold patients over for financial gain. Never again will I use the services of Northern Hospital. I will travel to WS and use Novant Forsyth.
