Kaiser doesn’t care about it’s behavioral health patients. They made me wait three months for an appointment and then canceled on me the day before. They want to blame their issues on the Union. But really the Union has the same complaints as I do. Kaiser isn’t addressing the needs of their patients. If Kaiser really cared they would work to negotiate with the Union to end the strike and get back to helping their patients.

Don't ya think it may be smart to open up on Saturdays to accommodate patients?

I love Kaiser. I’ve been a patient since about 1990 and don’t plan on changing providers. Kaiser has some of the most qualified and caring staff and the customer service first line of contact people are polite, knowledgeable and just plain sweet and nice!

Questions & Answers

Hi - just curious how Kaiser is or their process. So when I was with a different insurance, I was able to get a list of therapists I could see, how does Kaiser work. This is just for like personal issues I’m dealing with! Thanks, Susan

I've been dealing with Kaiser's system for a while. It really depends on what you need. First the patient will do a walk in evaluation at the main office on Howe, then from there they will assign the person to a therapist or psychiatrist or both. The therapy and the doctors are independent entities but to receive certain therapy treatments offered requires specific diagnosis from psychiatry. The therapist only see patients max once a month. If you need more support they usually refer you to take the classes offered. They offer really great out patient programs as well. The best thing to do is call the number and describe the problem and if necessary ask to speak with the nurse. If it's an emergency then go to ER and they have therapist and psychiatrist on staff that will help, and going to ER will expedite the entire process.
