During my last few visits coming here I have sadly witnessed security discriminating against black people, particularly black males. As a mother to 4 young black men and an aunt to several it hurts my heart to know they can't even go get a new ss card without being mistreated. I am even more saddened to think of the young black men with disabilities(mental illness) that have to come for their benefits. I seen 1 leaving clearly angry and nearly in tears I had to stop him and commend him on not getting angry and giving them a reason. So frustrating and heartbreaking

You must ask for a ticket for the ticket to work program. Can call call the social security office or go in the office they will educate you on what to do.

The easiest way to find out is to take his ss card and death certificate woth you and go in person to the closest ss office and speak with them. Be sure to take your ID with you as well.

You need to apply for a Social Security Card for your son. You can do that on line. Go to Social Security website and fill out paperwork. It's available in Spanish. Help is available in the online format. They also have a Spanish speaking calling line. I hope this answers your question.
My ck ing account was frozen due to "washing of a ck" got a new one and transfered some $$$$ into old one so upcoming automatic pyments could be taken out. Did that confuse SSC and they did not deposit to my account?

You have to apply online the local offices are still closed.
Call the Independence Ave office or go down. Although I wasn't able to go in the security officer was extremely nice and helpful. After calling and speaking to someone, I had my temp card in the mail in a week.
Can I please make an appointment for a name change after marriage? I do not feel comfortable mailing my drivers license and cannot go 1-2 weeks without it.

All SSA offices are currently closed, have been since mid March and will be for the foreseeable future, except for appointments. Almost all of their services are available online or over the phone.
