The Marina Inn on San Francisco Bay

The staff was very helpful. Breakfast was great. We really liked the coffee. The room was clean with a lovely view of the bay. Unfortunately we had some people above us who started banging around around 3:00 am so I got very little sleep. And there was water running somewhere over and over and over also in the early morning hours. I could hear it all through my ear plugs. We requested the top floor in our reservation but were not granted our request. And just a warning, the day we left the hotel was going to start charging $10 per night to park your car. Overall the hotel was fine, just noisy. For that reason I cannot recommend it unless you’re a heavy sleeper.

Pro. Near restaurant, food okay. Hotel is near the water; we had a wonderful view from our room of boats docked and I enjoyed watching people walk by and those with pets. Room had a queen, leaving plenty of room to do my morning stretches. Looked forward to a warm breakfast rather than lately (due to covid), bag breakfast. Enough selection, included drinks, hot oatmeal, make your waffle station, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, and fresh fruit. Staff is nice depending on who is at the front desk. Assume some were trained and others not or it is their personality? Price was obviously a bargain since it was next to the bay... thought it would have been higher. Con. In our room, some furniture are noticeably wore, or slightly damaged. Bed was very comfortable. Bathroom small and adequate. I would go there again...

The room was nice enough, and the breakfast pretty good. However, there were a few key negatives that influenced the rating. The biggest issue is that the toilet is literally in between two walls, with no room to move your legs. If you're plus-size or otherwise need room to maneuver, you won't find it here. I literally went downstairs to use the lobby bathroom - if I I had been staying any longer than a night, I would have requested a new room. Other negatives: my window literally looked into the window of another room, and there were no outlets near the bed. They had a power strip at the desk, but didn't have any where people most often need them. Overall, this place was conveniently located and decently priced, but I'd probably look elsewhere if I needed a hotel in the future.

This hotel is great for vacations or get aways. The rooms are cozy and clean. The staff are very professional and welcoming. They take Covid protocol seriously. The continental breakfast that is included with your stay is delicious. The pool is heated and clean, not to mention the view of the Marina is gorgeous. My family really enjoyed our stay. We will definitely return.
