I've come to El Mirage a couple of times in the last year for the SCTA runs. The first time my son and I just drove up to a kiosk and paid for the day pass. This last time there were people out stopping vehicles checking if you already had a day pass or if you needed to buy one and they directed you to where you needed to go. At that time we drove up to a side window at the main building to buy our day pass. A lot of off-roaders like to go out to El Mirage. SCTA also uses the dry lakebed a few times of the year for their Land Speed Racing runs. I think there are also people with land sail cars, gyro copters and ultralight aircraft also use the place. The SCTA event is located on the far western side of the dry lakebed. That requires driving across the lakebed. There seems to be two generalized routes that you can take as there is no defined route to take. One is driving along the northern end of the lake where there seems to be some kind of defacto road and the other is to just drive straight across the dry lake. Either way it's a very dusty drive. There is a speed limit on the dry lake so that you are not stirring up a giant dust cloud. In the late Spring and Summer months, it can become very very hot out on the lakebed. So make sure you bring plenty of water, sunscreen and anything that can provide some shade. I'm not 100% sure, but the building where you come in on to the dry lake might have drinks and snacks there, but they are not always open. There is a convenience store in El Mirage where it's the same situation of when they are open. Otherwise your only other options are Adelanto, to the east, or Lake Los Angeles, to the west, for gas and food.

Nope not at all
Yes it's open 24 hours according to their info on Google maps. You might want to call before driving out. Can't stress it enough check the Google maps info on Sunday. I think they only close when it rains but there is trails in the hilly range for motocross vehicles.
Yes tomorrow morning opens first thing. Check Google maps for hours. I was there last week.
Well up front twords the entrance Ive seen one but its in the practice area behind a small fenced in learning track. Otherwise you have to just drive and look for a small hill to back up to and unload that way. Ramps are pretty cheap at harbor freight.
No open fires, but you can bring a grill. Everybody cooks here.
Yes.
No, nor are there even dumpsters. Pack it in, pack it out. There are public pit toilets around the lakebed however.
Yes, you can ride red and green sticker. The ticket is good until next day at noon
No. One fee, 15 bucks covers the time you get in until the next day same time.
Don't ride mtb anymore. Knee injury. But I have there and yes it's got some good riding trails. But there for ohv vehicles to so you half to be careful. Or better yet make your own. And watch for mind shafts marked with wire gates.
I see what you are saying April. You want to avoid carrying the water from home to El Mirage. I don't know of a place. If anyone else does, please post here. Thanks
Not on lake bed if muddy but all the trails are fair game.
Not when it rains.
15 dollars or you can get a yearly pass from October to October for 90
If it rain last night it wont be open wet dirt/ muddy they are closed.
Yes you need to have a spark arrestor on your bike or quad to ride legally off road anywhere in California.
No not anymore in the past few year it has opened up to a year around location, but I wouldnt recommend ridding there in the summer. Until less you don't mind triple digget heat. Also there is a parking fee per day or you can buy a year pass
Yes
So in annual pass is $90 for one year from October to September of the following year correct
