Sorry I only know English, so I can not help.

Is it acceptable for a visitor to receive a blessing from a monk? Is there rules for doing so? I have always been interested in learning and experiencing different cultures. I do not want to be disrespectful to anyone. Hopeful for the opportunity.

Nick Bell | Sep 18, 2020
Pat Ngo | Sep 18, 2020

Yes, it is acceptable to ask for a blessing. However, you need to disclose your specific blessing to the Master regarding to what you are seeking for. Plan to spend more time at this temple if you are interested in learning different cultures (worship & vegetarian lunch times).

Anywhere on the property works. It is the most peaceful Zen place that I've been in many years.

I'm new to Buddhism. I've read quite a bit about the practice but never committed myself to it or any other way of life. Is there a best day and maybe person/group that would be suggested for a person such as myself?

You are always welcome.. Proper Etiquette and respect are a must , and one most have knowledge of such.. I suggest learning hello and thank you in Vietnamese. Sin chao. ,,Is hello....go to YouTube and watch a quick vid on how to properly greet a monk and enter a temple.. This basic information will go far in showing them you are a gift and not a burden. Both are excepted but the gift is placed in the temple and the burden sleeps with the dog.. blessings LB
