This was a good choice thanks to my sister and mom. The food was excellent although I can't recall the name of the dish I ordered but it had chicken, hamburger, refried beans, yellow rice, roasted green chili pepper on one plate, and a side of black beans with a cold water in ice to wash it all down😋 Soon as I see the menu again I'll update with the name of that dish I ordered. Surprisingly this wonderful experience happened in Altavista, Va! I really didn't expect the food to be that authentic yet it was and it is. I would challenge anyone who hasn't been already to try El Cerrito with your family one time and I bet you'll have a better experience than me👍

Had lunch with my brother that I hadn’t seen in 2 years. My brother works in a Mexican restaurant. He said this is very mediocre. I completely agree with my brother. I had the chicken tacos, the chicken was dry as a bone. They tried to pretend they didn’t speak English. My drink was very good, my brother enjoyed his Enchiladas. I might recommend El Cerrito.. but truth be told -they need serious improvements.

Usually the food is good , we eat here often but here lately its really slacking on quality. Barely a few pieces of chicken in my friends entree, and my steak had blood running out of it even tho I asked for well done, and was paper thin. I had complemented the manager on the steak before but its really went down hill. Sad. I loved this place!

Omg where do I start? No joke this is the best authentic Mexican restaurant I've been to. They hand make their own tamales 🫔 and hands down the best tamales I have ever have, I am a tamale lover... their steak fajitas are so freaking delicious. If you are in town I recommend 100%.
