Motel 6 Sandston, VA - Richmond, Va

I've always liked Motel 6 since they're always in a convenient location, great prices and I usually travel with my cat so no pet fees is great! This last stay was an awful experience with the Housekeeping staff, specifically the supervisor. We checked in on a Tuesday and spent majority of the afternoon on Wednesday out and about. When we came back to the room Wednesday around 3 or 4, Housekeeping had just started servicing the room. I walked in and the Housekeeper was on the phone, changing the sheets and then she replaced all our linens and asked if we needed anything else then left. I realized later that my son's stuffed animal was gone and remembered we left it on the bed. I checked around the room and beds and couldn't find it so I assumed it got bundled up in the old sheets by accident. I spoke with Housekeeping the next morning and they couldn't find it and said it must've been thrown away. I was disappointed that no one would go through the sheets and turn it in? They'd throw away a kids stuffed animal? Every morning we'd answer for housekeeping to get replacement linens but decline room service. This wasn't an issue until the next Monday when my husband was at the door with our son and our cat was in the window and the Housekeeping Supervisor (a black lady with short hair) gave him an attitude and said the cat wouldn't be at the window due to Housekeeping policy. She seemed surprised we had a cat (even though I mentioned it to the Front Desk agent when I first checked in). So I called the Front Desk and let them know to add it since I didn't want Housekeeping surprised. I also asked him if the window thing she had mentioned was policy and he said he didn't know since it wasn't his department and that I'd have to ask Housekeeping. Then Tuesday morning, the supervisor came to the room and yelled at us to come to the door. She told us they had to service the room everyday since it was policy and I said okay and let them in to service the room. Once I checked the pet policy on your website I realize this was my fault for not thoroughly reading it when it came to the service part HOWEVER I never had this issue when I stayed in Motel 6 in California, Vegas, or Texas? Not one agent ever mentioned this so I didn't know. If I had to choose I'd choose no service but if it's policy then I understand and will get the room serviced. The next day I asked the Housekeeper if she could come back at 12 or so to service the room since we were just getting up and she said okay and asked me to sign her task sheet? but she never came back. Then the Housekeeper the next day gave us fresh linens and left and said she didn't need to service the room if I didn't want it? Then now, I went to try and book another room at the same location and am being told I'm on a DNR list due to violating Housekeeping policies although after being told about the policies I obeyed them. I even helped strip the room and scrubbed the sink areas and shower for the Housekeeper on checkout because I know how difficult their job is.

Horrible!! Asked for a nonsmoking room and got a room that smelled Iike someone just smoked a pack of 20 Newports. We were coughing all night and it was nauseating! Pool had no water in it. Just a disgusting place. People by your rooms being loud all night long. You couldn’t pay me to stay here another night.

BEDBUGS!!! I stayed here for about a month then finally I got bit. I was in room 254...I was nice about it the first time. The staff claimed they would fix the issue, Lmbo (I had to go to the doctor because I had this experience before in another environment and almost got Lyme disease.) Then when I returned the next day, they gave me room 257....still got bit but I didnt stay and was told there were no other rooms...so was given my money back. I slept in my car. Now when I call, there are never any rooms. Instead of fixing the problem... they allowed another person into room 254 and I bet they rented the room 257 too. Homeless people live here. You would think they would prevent this issue. I dont think the staff gaf. So money wins again.

This Motel is definitely the best kept motel 6. The rooms are clean and the people are awesome. No unwanted bugs and lucky for us no pet fees and great rates. Tiffany, Miss Grace are Tia are wonderful and very attentive. It's extremely well lit at night in the parking lot and no creepy, unwanted behavior at night. I would definitely recommend!
